Went to Lake Merritt this afternoon for a 3.4-mile walk, which was fun because the weather was beautiful today. After the walk, we went to Fenton's Ice Cream in Oakland because we couldn't possibly have a calorie deficit. We then walked down Piedmont Street and found Gaylord's Coffee, which was a funky coffee shop.
We went to the city last night to pick up our marathon gear. I carried a pink (OK, it has some red tones to it) bag which had “Run Like a Girl” through the city and BART. Tyler got his second haircut yesterday, and it was my first time being able to take him, which was fun. He didn't want to sit in the airplane or Thomas the Tank seat, so he instead opted for me to hold him while we watched Peter Pan. As you can see in the video he didn't want to take his sunglasses off so they let him keep them on which was really nice of them....

It was a whopping 44 degrees without wind chill up at Timberline Lodge Friday afternoon. Timberline has an elevation of 5,960 ft (1.82 km) above sea level (hence the name…so high trees won't grow) and where they filmed The Shining with Jack Nicholson. I got some yummy coffee to warm up.
