OK, it probably wasn’t deadly, but we saw this on our walk tonight and luckily Christina had her iPhone on her. I’m not a huge snake fan, AKA, yeah I’m scared of them, so I got as close as I felt comfortable…AKA… I got close enough that if it charged me, I could run like crazy away from it safely. Risking my life for your blogging enjoyment, people, that’s what I’m here for.

Snake Robot Climbs A Tree
From the Biorobotics Lab at Carnegie Mellon University, a snake robot (Snakebot) demonstrates how it can climb a tree and look around. Please keep in mind that this robot climbed a specific tree with a specific trunk width about 1 meter off of the ground. The researchers working to design, build and program these robots still have much work to do to get these bots to climb taller trees of various sizes and to navigate over branches and wires.
400 Pound Snake
Hi everyone, it looks like this post is getting a ton of interest, which is great. I’m getting some good comments on the post, and don’t forget to check out the rest of my posts while visiting (come back and visit me at jeremyperson.com). I was looking at all of my snake postings and found I have quite a few, so if you enjoy this one, check these out. @WilliamsJoseph tweeted this out and I thought it was pretty awesome. Can you imagine running into this thing?
“A massive python named Deliah was moved by Florida wildlife officials to a temporary home after her chain-link cage near Apopka, Fla., was deemed unsuitable on Friday. The 16-year-old python measures 18 feet (5.49 m) long and weighs 400 pounds (ca. 181 kg).” Source: http://news.aol.com/article/400-pound-python-delilah-seized-from
Traffic Spike
My site went from a daily average of 60 visits to a sudden spike of over 8,000 yesterday. At one point 385 people were on the site, so I am happy my web server was able to keep up with the demand (thank you, WordPress and WP Super Cache). The 400 pound snake story caused tons of people to visit yesterday from bing.com. I was ranked third on Bing, and as of today I am now first (if you don’t count the Bing news article served up before it). Even though I was thrilled to see so many people visiting, it looks like most came to the site and left after 30 seconds. The good news is some of you stayed and some even subscribed to my RSS feed. I say anyone who knows how to subscribe to an RSS feed is a friend of mine and most likely someone who will enjoy the articles on this site. Thanks to everyone who visited and a big thanks to those of you who have come back or subscribed to my site.
Get Busy Liv’n…Or Get Busy Dying!
So, I was watching Miami Ink maybe a year ago (guilty as charged) and on the episode I was watching they had a guy who got a tattoo which said “Get busy liv’n or…Get busy dyin”. How much would I shock everyone if I all of a sudden showed up with a skull and snake tattoo? Don’t worry, I’m not getting a tattoo any time soon, common me with a tattoo? It is interesting to watch that show because people tend to get tattoos after life altering experiences, don’t they? Anyway, the point of writing this is to ask yourself this: Are you getting busy living or busy dying? So many people go through life feeling sorry for themselves, don’t be one of them.
You only get one life to live, so get busy living, people!
